Background Snapshots Reprocessing

Network Snapshots are invalidated when the Forward Enterprise platform is updated or when some changes are applied to the Snapshot like adding or updating a Synthetic Device.

The Status in the Snapshot Selector shows you if a given Snapshot has been already processed or if it is ** invalidated**. In the latter case, it needs to be reprocessed before it can be used.

The Snapshot reprocessing can be triggered by clicking on the Snapshot.

Moreover, on-prem users can configure the system to automatically re-process invalidated snapshots in the background. This is especially helpful after applying a platform upgrade.

In each network the following snapshots will be reprocessed if background reprocessing is enabled:

  • Most recent snapshot
  • One snapshot per day for the last 7 days
  • All favorited snapshots

To configure background Snapshots reprocessing, navigate to Settings, System, General, expand the ** Experimental features**, and set the Background Snapshots reprocessing option to Enable.
