  • FWD-52020 These deprecated operations will be removed in release 26.10. If you use them, see How to use the Collector Tasks API for detailed guidance on switching to newer APIs.

    • Deprecated operations:
      • GET /api/networks/{networkId}/collector/status (Get Collector status)
      • POST /api/networks/{networkId}/startcollection (Trigger a network collection)
      • POST /api/networks/{networkId}/cancelcollection (Cancel a network collection)

  • FWD-57483 The Snapshot-scoped link override operations have been deprecated for removal in release 26.11. Use the network-scoped link override operations introduced in release 26.8 instead. For detailed guidance on switching, see Migrating to the new link overrides API.

    • Deprecated operations:
      • GET /api/snapshots/{snapshotId}/topology/overrides (Get link overrides for a Snapshot)
      • POST /api/snapshots/{snapshotId}/topology/overrides (Edit link overrides at a Snapshot)
      • PUT /api/snapshots/{snapshotId}/topology/overrides (Replace link overrides at a Snapshot)

  • FWD-58049 GET /api/networks/{networkId}/snapshots/latestProcessed has been deprecated for removal in release 26.12. Use List network Snapshots with ?state=PROCESSED&limit=1 instead. Unlike the deprecated operation, it responds 200 OK with an empty snapshots list rather than 404 Not Found or 409 Conflict when the network has no matching Snapshot.

      • GET /api/networks/{networkId}/snapshots/latestProcessed (Get the latest processed Snapshot)

Non-breaking changes​

  • FWD-58044 List network Snapshots now accepts an advancedReachabilityState query parameter, which filters the results to Snapshots in a given advanced reachability computation state.

    • Affected operations:
      • GET /api/networks/{networkId}/snapshots (List network Snapshots)

  • FWD-58054 Export a Snapshot subset now accepts the ?only=CONFIG filter that Export a Snapshot already accepted. Use it to limit the export to device configuration files only.

    • Affected operations:
      • POST /api/snapshots/{snapshotId} (Export a Snapshot subset)

  • FWD-50939 The SnapshotMetrics properties collectionConcurrency and jumpServerCollectionConcurrency have been removed. A network is now collected across multiple Collectors, and jump server concurrency is configured per jump server, so these single network-wide values no longer apply. These were not required properties.

    • Affected operations:
      • GET /api/snapshots/{snapshotId}/metrics (Get Snapshot metrics)

  • FWD-55628 Added the DeviceType value "AWS_ROUTE_SERVER" and VendorOs value "aws_route_server".

    • Affected operations:
      • GET /api/networks/{networkId}/devices (Get all network devices)
      • GET /api/networks/{networkId}/devices/{deviceName} (Get a network device)

  • FWDN-12721 Added the VendorOs value "cisco_ndo" for a Cisco Nexus Dashboard Orchestrator.

    • Affected operations:
      • GET /api/networks/{networkId}/devices (Get all network devices)
      • GET /api/networks/{networkId}/devices/{deviceName} (Get a network device)

  • FWD-58008 Added the DeviceProcessingError value "UNLICENSED_DEPENDENCY", which means the device is unlicensed because a device it depends on is unlicensed. A wireless controller can have this error if it has unlicensed access points.

    • Affected operations:
      • GET /api/networks/{networkId}/devices (Get all network devices)
      • GET /api/networks/{networkId}/devices/{deviceName} (Get a network device)

  • FWD-58691 Added the JumpServer properties maxSessions, the maximum number of devices collected concurrently through the jump server, and maxStartups, the maximum number of concurrent unauthenticated connections to the jump server’s SSH daemon.

    • Affected operations:
      • GET /api/networks/{networkId}/jumpServers (Get all jump servers)
      • POST /api/networks/{networkId}/jumpServers (Create a jump server)
      • PATCH /api/networks/{networkId}/jumpServers/{jumpServerId} (Update a jump server)

  • FWD-58056 Added the async query parameter of the Snapshot import operation. Use async=true to get an immediate 202 Accepted response rather than waiting for the import and processing to finish.

    • Affected operations:
      • POST /api/networks/{networkId}/snapshots (Import a Snapshot)

  • FWD-58057 Added the process query parameter to the Snapshot import operation. Use process=false to import a Snapshot without processing it.

    • Affected operations:
      • POST /api/networks/{networkId}/snapshots (Import a Snapshot)

  • FWD-58415 Added support for getting NQE query results in comma-separated values (CSV) format. To get it, send the Accept: text/csv request header.

    • Affected operations:
      • GET /api/networks/{networkId}/nqe-executions/{executionKey}/result (Get NQE query execution result)

Notable changes to unpublished APIs​

This section describes some changes to API operations that are not published in the Forward API documentation and so have no stability guarantees. This section is included as a courtesy to anyone who might be interested. It isn’t a complete change log.

  • FWD-58825 Renamed the licensed-endpoints resource.
    • GET /licensed-endpoints → GET /licensed-edge-assets
    • PATCH /licensed-endpoints → PATCH /licensed-edge-assets
